There is mortal fault opposing to the Exorcisms |
Doubtless, you should not see the devil everywhere nor to practise the exorcisms or the prayers of liberation without thinking!... Nevertheless, the theology, which has an eminent role to be played in the Church, considers as a fault, for those who have responsibility of souls, not to help a person subjected to the action of the devil. On this subject, Mgr. Auguste Saudreau, which is a valuable author in spirituality, wrote: « The theologians, who treated these questions ' ex professo ', declare that IT HAS MORTAL FAULT the one who has responsibility of souls not to exorcise those who are possessed. It is evident that THERE WOULD BE MORTAL FAULT OPPOSING TO the EXORCISMS AND PREVENTING THAT WE CARRY HELP with poor BEINGS which have to undergo a spiritual and physical event so terrible ». (The mystic state and the extraordinary facts of the spiritual life, ch. 22, Published by Brunet Arras) The religious authorities have the grave duty to take into account this theological assertion, which is not a simple more or less likely (!) opinion, put which expresses the COMMON TEACHING of the theologians who studied this question !...

The Devilish Influences
In the action(share) of the devil, it is necessary to distinguish a COMMON way and one the other EXTRAORDINARY. The first way consists for the devil to push the men(people) to the sin by the temptations; as for the second way, she can be translated by the following forms:
- THE OBSESSION, which is a continuation of temptations more violent and more prolonged than the common temptations.
- The OWNERSHIP, where the devil really acts in the body of the patient, instead of making feel his action only from the outside as in the obsession.
- The HUMILIATION, by which the devil can cause confusions in the health, the tangible assets, the human affections, the work, etc.
- INFESTATIONS, which can affect various objects, houses, animals.
- The external SUFFERINGS, the knocks and the ill treatment, which we find in the life of the saints or the fervent persons.
- The state of DEPENDENCE of the devil, the cause of which is a pact with him.
Before the ownership is discerned, the devil often provokes physical and psychic confusions, for which treatments and medicines turn out mostly ineffective. Among the physical troubles, we notice that it is especially the head and the stomach that are the most affected.
Among the SECONDARY devilish influences, we can mention several psychic abnormalities, as the impermeability towards the divine values, the aversion of the sacred, the religious doubt, the incapacity to feel the real contrition of the sin, the impossibility to concentrate for the prayer and for the reading of the Holy Bible, the anxiety, the irritability, the aggressiveness, the blasphemy, the alcoholism, the immorality, the kleptomania, the addiction to smoking, the drug addiction, etc. In front of this variety of the devilish influences, what can the psychologist indeed make ?...
In our tolerant world, some become under the influence of the devil, without noticing it too much, by experiencing towards the magic, the witchcraft, the occultism, the spiritualism, the oriental religions, by ignoring the dangers which they incur.
Besides, some people can damage others by the intervention of the devil by means of the black magic, the curses, of the evil eye and of the fates.
The certainty of the Ownership
The press release of the Agence France-Presse, which it was previously mentioned, indicates that, according to the new Rite " the exorcist never has to proceed to an exorcism without having the ' moral certainty ' to be really in front of devil "!... Here is the requirement which is theologically more than debatable !...
It is necessary to remind at first that the characteristic signs of a demoniacal possession do not show themselves constantly; on the contrary, they appear almost always during or towards the end of an exorcism. Safe in the gravest cases, the possessed subject can continue to attend to its work, to study, in a apparently normal way, being in reality the only one to know the efforts for which it asks him(her). When he is not in the presence of a religious influence, the person possessed does not usually draw the attention; on the contrary, he can be pleasant and discreet !...
The difference is often difficult and hypothetical and it is the exorcism itself who allows to diagnose the ownership. Three main symptoms of the ownership, that's to say a superhuman strength, to speak about it in unknown languages and the knowledge of hidden things, never show themselves before the exorcism and still hanging this one. It is during the exorcism that the exorcist discerns gradually the gravity of the evil, that he notices if it is about an ownership, about an obsession, about a humiliation, and if the evil is profoundly rooted.
It is advisable to notice that the new Code of canon law does not require any more the certainty of the presence of the devil to pronounce an exorcism (can. 1172), as made it the ancient Code (can. 1151).
Moreover, why to take so many "precautions" to avoid damaging the devil, while it is the cause, more or less distant, of all the evil which there is at the people and on the earth?... Furthermore, according to the testimony of numerous exorcists, never an exorcism, which was not necessary, caused the slightest damage; on the other hand, they sometimes had to regret having omitted it !...
On this subject, we can admire the "wisdom" of father Francescau Palau, beatified by pope Jean-Paul II, on April 25th, 1988!... He welcomed the mental patients and he exorcised them ALL: then, those who were sick remained patients, whereas the persons possessed were freed !...
